On Saturday night I found myself bored with some of my friends. We were having trouble determining what to do next so we decided to be spontaneous and take a trip to the Smoky Mountains. We left at 10:00 Saturday night and made several stops along the way. We stopped in Knoxville around 1 in the morning and walked around downtown. We finally made it to Gatlinburg a little past 2 in the morning and ended up eating at a lovely Denny's. After we stuffed ourselves we drove about 40 minutes in the park to the top of Clingmans Dome. We were at the highest point in Tennessee and we arrived just before the sunrise. With our car pointing east we got to see the beautiful sunrise. Down below there were so many clouds it looked like we were above an ocean. It was simply beautiful. We took pictures and drove down the mountain and made it back to school by 11 on Sunday. It was one of the best nights.
